CMA Fest 2012 -

Anthony is in the Zac Brown Band fan club. Every year they do a fan club party before CMA Fest for a couple hundred of their luckiest fans. Anthony was able to get us tickets this year. (we weren't able to get em last year) So off we went!

The fellas always play a few tunes and mingle a bit with everybody. We chatted with him for a spell.
Chef Rusty, Zac's  good buddy always cooks up a messasumthin and it was really good, as usual. My favorite thing was this thing - -
they called it chocolate peanut butter biscuit pudding. YUMMMM

On to the BIG SHOW...
it was P E R F E C T weather... for sittin outside enjoyin some country tunes
I'll hit the highlights for ya...

Miranda Lambert rocked out.
I have to admit...I wasn't so much a fan of hers before this, but she really sounded good and she totally jams with that guitar slung around her neck

As usual, the place went nuts when Jason Aldean took the stage. He played last year on the night we went. He's cool, just not my fave.

Umm... Lady Antebellum came out and sung their heads off, do ya hear me?

And of course these fellas were why we went - Zac Brown Band yeeeeeaaaaaaah
 They played - -
Keep Me In Mind one of my faves
The Devil Went Down to Georgia I always think that guitar is gonna go to smokin when Zac plays it the way he does on this song
The Wind a new one from their CD that comes out next month
Ain't In No Hurry another one of my faves
Uncaged from their new CD
America the Beautiful into Chicken Fried can't go wrong with this pairing either!

Brad Paisley closed the show. I'm not a fan of his. He seems like a cool dude. I just don't dig his music that much, although he's great on guitar.

On the way home, we just had to swing through for some Castle sliders. These and Krystals are a late night thing...you gotta get em.

Thanks for the memories Nashville ~

National what's it day

It's National Running Day.

Didja know?

I didn't. Never heard of it. But it made me feel like I had to go running. So I did. Ran 2 miles.

I would need to purchase said shirt on the left. Not because it's a gal wearin it & it's my favorite color, but because when you run you do get to eat more. he he he

And speaking of e a t i n g...
Last Friday was National Donut Day.
I guilted my coworker pal Brandi into running out to Donut Time a new little donut shop in town for us some donuts. But because it was NDD they were out of apple fritters. No good Mr. Donut Maker! Ya bettuh stop lettin me down man.

So who comes up with these national day thingies? I'm gonna need a National Get a Gift for Your Favorite Blogger Day or somethin. (ahem) Somebody get on that.

My friend Angela is now a MRS.

This weekend my friend Angela got herself hitched.

Angela and I have been working together since 2004. And that was when her and her fella started dating. So as ya can see, he's a little slow bout things. *sigh*

Brandi was my chaffeur I rode with Brandi so our first task was to pick up the cake. I was the cake holder. Important am I.
Then we had to pick up the flowers. Almost left the florist without all of em. Whew. Crisis averted.

I wasn't the main photographer (can I get a thank the Lord, whew). I was a secondary. That freed me up to get candids and some of the shots the main photographer couldn't get. Less stress for me.

A friend of ours at work ordered this cool personalized hanger for Ang's dress. So cute.

If you're a girl and you're married, you know the whole dress puttin on process is a wee bit complicated. And takes some helpin hands.
At one point I saw 4 people assisting. :o)

The bride wore some bright red scuffs til it was show time... then she donned some purdy navy blue pumps
 Here comes the bride

At the rehearsal they decided to add a flower girl. The groom's niece. Isn't she presh?! She didn't seem real sure of her role... a friend of Angela's kinda helped her drop a couple petals.

The ceremony was really nice.
Especially considering they threw it together in about 2 weeks. They've been talkin bout becomin one for a while now, just finally decided yeah, let's do this.

The most memorable part of the day was when Angela tried to put Jerry's ring on his RIGHT hand. When they corrected her, she told us "well he gave me that hand."  Lol Ok Ang. Ok

 Classic Angela

The top is always the prettiest part of the cake, isn't it?

A guy at work made the wedding cake (remember Riley's awesome super hero birthday cake? Riley's 4th birthday blog post)
When Angela saw the cake she was super happy and said it looked just like the pic she had given him. Such talent!
I had some of the groom's cake cuz I heard it was LEMON and ya know I love some lemon stuff! A sweet lady kin to Angela made it.

And these...
yummy mints, oh so yummy - Thanks Ms. Rudy!

 happy bride
happy groom

And a few more for good measure ~

Congrats you two!

Somebody's havin a birthday (Anthony's big sis)

Anthony (my hub) only has just the one sib.
A sis.
5 years his senior.
She used to cart him and his pals around all over creation, including Rivergate mall. You  know, back in the day.
Today's her boithday. (nyuk nyuk nyuk)

We went to Cracker Barrel for a bite to eat.
Good times indeed.
Laughin and talkin and eatin. But no happy birthday singin. She embarrasses too easily.

Then...
Kinda like back when life was simpler.
And people actually used their front porches.
For somethin other than pretty furniture.

This checkers game stirred up a bit of controversy. Anthony felt like he lost because Dawson was being coached by Memaw and Papa.
Or maybe it was because Anthony's not too great at checkers.
I can't say fer sure.

We parted ways and Anthony and I decided to continue the celebrating...
...at Baskin Robbins

with a chocolate shake for him
a scoop of Snickers ice cream in a sugar cone for me <3
They ended up at DQ. Great minds...
Ummm
Why isn't there more ice cream in life?!

When we got home, this little guy was in front of the garage -
Where ya come from little guy? Go back there and stay outta our garage.
Please.

a wee OCD bout nail polish

I think most of us have a bit of OCD tendencies. Me? It's nail polish.

I can overlook piles of dirty laundry, an unmade bed, dirty dishes in the sink, unopened mail... but chipping nail polish?

Ahem. No ma'am. (or sir as the case may be)

Last Saturday I painted my fingernails myself. French manicure. Are you impressed?

They've lasted til tonight, with just a few touch ups here and there.

Typing rubs off the ends a bit. And I type A LOT. Paralegals do that kind of shtuff. Can't stand the nail edges sans polish. Keep the polish with me. As in AT ALL TIMES.

OCD = can't leave it aloneitis

As we watched the American Idol finale tonight, it started.

Scratch, scratch. 4 down 6 to go.

Buh bye frenchy... it was good while it lasted. You sure were purdy.

Soccer in the USA (by Kerby)

Kerby first tread on American soil on December 25th, when he and his little sister Kerlandy got off the plane with my brother and his wife. Adopted they were.

Now, he's about to finish 7th grade and receive a Math award. He could speak English before he got here, but little sis, not so much.

A lot has happened in 5 quick months. And lemme tell ya, I couldn't be a prouder aunt. And I don't think I could love em more than I do.

I'm here to tell ya - they're a blessing to our family.

Ok, ok, alright, enough of mushy Lyndy. Whew. She doesn't come out much. Thankfully.

Saturday we headed out to Kerby's soccer game. It was a hot day of course, but we had a spot in the shade.
Michelle's sister Julie has two little girls (her youngest is beside Kerlandy here) Julie & I were BFFs when Dad pastored in Kentucky. Saturday the girls had their babies complete with strollers. Aww. Reminds me of me & Julie back in the day. Except we had Cabbage Patch dolls. Ah, the 80s.

Kerby's team played hard, but the game ended with a tie.

Kerlandy & Avery played on the playground for a little while.

Kerby made a goal attempt with his noggin (I think they call that a header in soccer, but I don't know the lingo so don't quote me on that). It barely missed. Oh well. I yelled "good try Kerby" and he looked over at me and said "thank you." Manners. Aww

After the game, we ran for a bite of lunch. Kerby's choice - Taco Bell
Man, those cinnamon twists

In case ya haven't noticed, my family likes silly pics.

After we ate, we went to my niece Sasha & Phil's apartment. They had just moved that morning from a one bedroom to a two bedroom. Upgrade! It was so cute and homey!
Could these little squirts be any dang cuter?!
They gave Sasha & Phil's couch a run for its money. ha

Sasha & Phil don't have little ones yet. At least not human ones. They have two woof woofs. Spencer is a mini Doberman Pinscher they recently acquired. Joey is a Pomeranian. I'm not a dog person but I hafta admit they're pretty cute. Spencer licked my nose.

I had forgotten how much the kids loooove Chapstick. Michelle said when you go to Haiti, you need to take plenty of Chapstick. They'll surround you at the orphanage if you whip out a tube of it. :-P

When Kerlandy moisturizes her lips, it takes a whiiiile. Waiting... waiting... waaaaiting... you finally hear mom say ENOUGH!
Mom & daughter. :-)
Every time I take a pic of these two I think they could pass for sisters.

Me & my bro. . . we're 10 years apart. I always like to remind him how he's a whole DECADE older than me.  he he he

We had a really fun day. Here's to more of those!
